Privacy policy

You can practise without an account. Google sign-in lets Sprachpfad recognise you and save your learning progress across devices. Your account progress is not a public profile.

Who is responsible

Sprachpfad is operated by Rohan Kumar Singh, who is responsible for the personal data used by this learning website. For privacy questions or requests, email rohank.singh2002@gmail.com. This policy covers the Sprachpfad website at sprachpfad-learn-deutsch.pages.dev.

Information used by the website

Why information is used

Account information identifies the correct learner, restores a session and keeps each account's progress separate. Learning records provide the progress, review and planning features you choose. Connection and support information helps deliver the website, diagnose problems and prevent misuse.

Sprachpfad does not sell Google account data or learning records, use them for targeted advertising, or use them to train AI models. The application does not make automated decisions about admission, employment or official qualifications.

Where European data-protection law applies, information needed to provide requested account and learning features is processed to provide that service. Basic service security and responding to enquiries rely on legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website. Where consent is legally required, it must be obtained before that processing. Google controls the consent step for sharing its account information.

Services involved

Some providers operate internationally, so service information may be processed outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their applicable processing terms explain the safeguards they use. The database location does not mean every service request remains in Ireland.

Most lesson audio is served as a recording. When a recording is unavailable, your browser's speech service may speak the displayed German text. Whether that voice runs locally or uses a network service depends on your browser and device. Sprachpfad does not record your microphone.

Links to external learning resources take you to services with their own privacy practices.

Browser storage and retention

The learning application uses local storage for guest progress, a cached copy of account progress and the sign-in session. Session storage supports the guest choice and sign-in return flow. These are functional features; the application code does not include advertising or analytics trackers.

Guest progress remains until you reset it or clear the site's browser data. Account information and saved progress remain while your account exists, unless you request deletion. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule for inactive accounts. Providers may retain operational logs and backups according to their service settings and legal obligations.

Signing out ends the local session. A synced account cache is removed; an unsynced copy can remain on that device for recovery. Resetting progress does not delete your sign-in account. Clearing browser data alone does not delete the account's server copy.

Your choices and requests

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also have rights to restrict processing, object, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent for processing based on consent, and complain to your data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not undo earlier lawful processing.

Updates

This page will be updated if the website's data practices change. Any new use of Google data requiring consent will be explained before it starts.
